The SFR Viewer will display a list of Bit Names which should correspond with the Bit Names in the Microchip® documentation.

If the Bit Name file is available for the current device clicking on the link at the bottom of the dialog will insert the Symbol declarations for that register into the page at the current cursor position.  Alternatively, you can add individual symbol declarations as and when those bit names are used.

Double Click an individual bit name to insert that Bit Name into your code at the current cursor position.  If that bit name hasn't been declare as a symbol, you will be able to paste that symbol from the clipboard.

Note The SFRViewer relies on a Bit Name file (*.bnf) for the current device being available in BNF Data file.
( C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Positron Studio\BNF Data.zip).  While the Positron Studio distribution has many bit name files for older 8 bit devices there are few files for the 16 bit devices and more recent 8 bit devices.

You can create .bnf files for 8 & 16 bit series with the help of Harm DeVries BitName File creator.

If you add a new .bnf file for a device please submit it to the author to be add into the file for the next update.
