such as Positron Studio has been developed specifically to support Positron Basic Compilers. It provides a rich set of functions in a modern styled User Interface to enable the rapid development of firmware for embedded microprocessors.

Main Features

Full Featured Editor with Syntax Highlighting for Positron Compilers and .ini Files, code bracketing of conditional statements, Code Folding, Bookmarking, Code Completion. The editor also displays the Assembler Listing and Hex code output from the Positron Compilers. Fuse Settings configuring the target microprocessor can be set up and the resulting code can be automatically created and added in to the source.

The Code Explorer provides the means to navigate through the code quickly. It presents a tree structure of the code to which specific elements of the code can be quickly navigated.

The Library Explorer lists all the available libraries which can be selected and opened in the editor or from which specific library functions can be added.

Project Manager is where the files associated with the current firmware development are placed. This can comprise libraries or other elements of code which are referenced in the current firmware code. It can also include additional text, log, ini files or pdf files which are relevant to or used by the project.  Projects can be automatically created from existing files or new projects can be started from scratch.

PDF Reader enables Acrobat PDF files to be read directly from within Positron Studio and can be used for convenient reference to documents such as Data Sheets etc. Where a document contains a bookmark index these bookmarks can be accessed in a similar way to the bookmark list in the Acrobat Reader.

Datasheet Finder searches the manufacturers website for Datasheets on current device, downloads them and displays them in the IDE.

Additional Tools include:
Vector Interrupt Wizard for 16 bit MPUs
Peripheral Pin Select Wizard

Additional 3rd Party tools such as Serial Comm Terminal, Programmers, Timer Calculators etc  can be integrated into Positron Studio to suit individual needs.

About the Positron Compilers

Positron Compilers are PIC Basic compilers for the Microchip® family of 8 bit and 16 bit micro-controllers. The compilers are efficient, highly optimised compilers which compare favourably both in speed and memory usage against industry standard C and Basic compilers.

Positron8 and Positron16 compilers compile code for the Microchip® 8 bit and 16 bit families of  Micro-controllers.  The range of supported devices covers the majority of Microchip® PIC devices and new devices are added at regular intervals as they are released and as determined by demand.
